Witness Michigan. They were to open their season with Hawaii, at Michigan, but decided they wanted an easier team for their opening game. Some Appalachian team I think? Good plan!goldenEonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09616026938641820635noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1659594715544116800.post-52373979959983638362007-08-30T00:50:00.000-06:002007-08-30T00:50:00.000-06:00Nice article on June Jones and the Warrior footbal...Nice article on June Jones and the Warrior football team. All I have to say about the schedule is that no one want's to play Hawaii. Michigan St. paid Hawaii $250,000 to get out of this years game. I know hawaii will travel anywhere to play an of the top schools but they don't want to play the warriors. You can't blame Hawaii for that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1659594715544116800.post-33526390640593306702007-08-29T07:38:00.000-06:002007-08-29T07:38:00.000-06:00The only part of that I would disagree with is tha...The only part of that I would disagree with is that they purposefully schedule patsys. Herm Frazier is the guy that has to get tougher opponents and has failed miserably at that. A few years ago Hawaii pasted BYU, ranked no.6 at the time, and then has beaten other quality opponents like Mich State - who has paid big money to get out of their commitment to play UH. The tougher teams were all for playing UH when it was an easy win (under Von Appen and others) but since they have become a serious threat to not just beat you but embarrass you, better opponents have shown a reluctance to want to play Hawaii. UH's best bet is to get into a better conference (Pac 10 would be great!).Johnhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02980006657174825153noreply@blogger.com
